Julia Koppel-Kase

  • For as long as I can remember, I’ve dreamed of showing my art to the world — not just as decoration, but as a reflection of something deeper and more sacred. Each of my paintings holds a piece of my inner journey — my emotions, my intuition, my search for meaning.

For many years, I quietly created and shared my works with friends, posting on Facebook, selling a few calendars. But deep inside, I held onto a dream — to reach beyond my circle, to let my art travel, speak, and connect with others far beyond my studio in Estonia.

Seven years ago, I had the idea to turn my art into everyday objects — something beautiful, soulful, and accessible. I started with simple calendars for friends and slowly began to imagine something more.

Today, that dream has come to life through my Etsy shop, where I offer prints of my original paintings as well as art-inspired gifts. It allows me to share the energy and meaning behind each piece — without needing to part with the originals, which hold a very special place in my heart.

Art, to me, is not just a visual language — it’s a way of connecting soul to soul.

Thank you for being part of this journey.

I am Julia Koppel-Kase, an Estonian artist and certified interior architect based in Tallinn.

My creative work is rooted in a rich background that blends architecture, fashion design, and visual art with a deep interest in psychology and inner transformation.

I hold a degree in Interior Architecture from the Estonian Entrepreneurship University of Applied Sciences (Eesti Ettevõtluskõrgkool Mainor, 2006–2013), where my thesis explored the psychophysical effects of architectural space. I also studied fashion design and garment construction at the Tallinn Light Industry Technical School (Tallinna Kergetööstustehnikum, 1996–1999). Earlier in my career, I worked for eight years as a fashion designer and head constructor at Protten, creating seasonal women's collections that combined aesthetic elegance with technical precision.

Over the years, I have completed various professional trainings in decorative painting, natural stone technologies, flooring systems, and architectural restoration. Since 2019, I have been running my own interior architecture and consulting company, Ruukase OÜ. I am a member of the Estonian Association of Interior Architects since 2017 and have held a level 6 professional certificate since 2018. I have over ten years of experience in the field of interior architecture.

My artistic journey has always run parallel to my professional work. In 2016, I held my first solo exhibition. I have participated multiple times in international art competitions such as the Luxembourg Art Prize (2018, 2020, 2021, 2023) and Golden Talent (2022), where I received 2nd and 3rd place awards. In 2025, I was honored with 1st place at the international Golden Time Talent art competition.

In recent years, I’ve focused primarily on acrylic painting on canvas, exploring spiritual and divine themes through vibrant color, symbolism, and intuitive composition. Earlier, I created fantasy-inspired artworks using pastel and pencil, often delving into archetypes, mythology, and dream-like imagery. My art is a space for inner contemplation, where I translate emotional states, subtle energies, and mystical visions into visual form.

Through my work, I seek to open a dialogue between the inner world and the outer, between the visible and the unseen.
