Ginkgo biloba – Originally from China, the bisexual tree stands for the Japanese as a sign of rebirth while in Chinese philosophy it symbolises the female yin (gentness) and male yan (life force). In 2021 I was seriously ill and none of the doctors I visited could help me. Then I decided to take my health into my own hands and came across the so-called adaptogens. Adaptogens are called plants that can mobilise the body’s own defenses. The Ginkgo biloba belongs to these pans. From 2021, this plant belongs in my home medicine cabinet due to its wonderful effect. In an internet article, the following is written about this plant: “Japanese and Chinese worship the tree for its miracle home and ask among it the fulfilment of their wishes. The ginkgo is a symbol of hope, fertility, invincibility and long life. It is also referred to as a temple tree (often it stands near such sanctuaries), as an elephant-eared or duck-footed tree (in allusion to its leaf shape) and as a lucky tree. He is even known as Goethe’s tree. The poet Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749 – 1832) had written the poem ‘Ginkgo biloba’ in 1815 for his late love Marianne von Willemer, in which he depicts the fan-like sheet as a symbol of love and friendship. Quote ‘Is it a living being that separates itself? Are there two who read that you know as one?’”
